I have had a Professional Learning Network for as long as I have been teaching. I think most teachers naturally search out ways to improve their instruction and new ideas for making learning meaningful for their students. Thankfully, many teachers are sharers by nature, so it has been easy to benefit from the expertise of many wonderful individuals. What I have learned from my participation in the ET-630, Digital Communication in the Classroom, course is that PLN's are not supposed to be one-sided. I have chiefly been the consumer of ideas and information, a lurker. To truly grow and learn, I will be working towards becoming a more active participant in the online communities that are a part of my Professional Learning Network.

Pinterest has become one of my favorite go to sites for finding ideas to use in the library. Through Pinterest, I am able to find display ideas, book lists, teaching ideas, and great ideas for organizing the library. You can find my Library Board here. I have been gathering ideas for adding a MakerSpace to the library. The ideas can be found here.

I have been on FaceBook for several years. I had come across many thought-provoking articles that friends had shared, and I would then comment on and pass along. As of this fall, I have included FaceBook in my PLN. There are several groups and individuals that I follow now.

I have had a Twitter account for a while. It was through this course, though, that I have begun to realize the many benefits of Twitter as a Professional Learning Tool. Click here to see who I have been following on Twitter. You can find my educational account here.
